Marshals lose closely contested ballgame 8-4

The Marshals saw themselves get into a back and forth battle with the Bombers last night.  A game that featured four lead changes, the Marshals dueled it out with the 1st place Bombers.  Chase Morris (Brookhaven) made his second start of the season for the Marshals.  The Marshals struck first in the bottom of the 1st after a wild pitch strikeout to Phillip Kunsa (Middle Tennessee State University) with the bases load and 2 outs that scored Ian Landry (Midland U.).  Brazos Valley responded in the top of the 2nd with runners on 1st and 3rd, Chandler Morris stole second and on the throw down to second Kyle O'Keefe took off and beat the throw that followed to home.  The Bombers took a lead in the top of the 4th on an O'Keefe homerun.  Marshals were quick to reply, in the bottom of the 4th JT Vangelder (Paris JC) had a 2 RBI single that scored Jarrod Huber (SFA) and Andre Ruche (Central Baptist College).  Brazos continued the scoring in the top of the 5th with four runs and then added two more in the 6th.   The Marshals got one back in the bottom of the 7th on a Connor Scruggs (UTD) single that plated Eric Bullock (Tyler CC).  The score remained 8-4 through the last two innings and the final was Bombers 8 Marshals 4.  JT Vangelder (Paris JC) went 4-5 out of the leadoff spot for the Marshals and had 2 RBI as well as 3 stolen bases.  The winning pitcher for the Bombers was Reid Morgan and Chase Morris of the Marshals took the loss.  

Your Marshals will return to action June 9th and 10th in Lafayette, Louisiana to take on the Cane Cutters.  The Marshals will return home to face the Texarkana Twins on June 11th and 12th at Graham Field.
