The Texas Marshals Resign Head Coach  Jason Smiga for the 2016 Season

Jason Smiga, the varsity assistant coach for the Richardson Eagles, in his 18th year as both a teacher and coach at the school.

Over the years at Richardson High School, Smiga has been instrumental with getting a lot of their players prepared to make their move to the College level of baseball, as well as academics. The Eagles won the District Championship in 2010, with some of those players moving on to University of Texas at Arlington, as well as others.

Prior to coming to Richardson, Smiga enjoyed success on the college level of baseball at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, as well as the University of Houston when they were in the Southwest Conference, where he was named Conference Shortstop during his playing time for the Cougars.

After college, Smiga spent three years playing professional baseball in the Texas Rangers organization at the “A” and “AA” level, his extensive knowledge of the game of baseball coupled with his experience makes him a well –rounded coach.

He understands the Game as both a player, he also manages a successful business as a private hitting and fielding instructor
